i cant remember where i go tthe recipe from, clearly had to convert it to metric. also for some reason i only had the ingredients list written down, no instructions, so ill make them up

anyways, take the cold butter (o warm, whatever suits your fancy, it doesnt really matter as we're browning it) and put it in a pan on the stovetop on low (any pan will do, i like a saucier pan, makes me feel like a proper chef). this step takes, idk, like 10-15 mins? maybe 20? who knows, the thing is you gotta sort of keep and eye on the butter, not too much, but yk, we dont want burnt butter. You're going to know it's close when it smells nutty and toasted and tasty and it has a deep golden brown colour and the sound goes from bubbling to sizzling? frying?

once you have you gorgeous brown butter, you want to put it in a bowl and mix in both the brown and the white sugar. really you can make any sort of combination of sugars as long as brown+white end up being like ~375gr. also if you wanna be a killjoy, replace some of the sugar with artifical sweetener or smth. never tried it so if it comes out bad it's on you. after everyting has mixed up let it cool down while we do the other part.

preheat oven to 180C?? idk that's the temperature they always use in baking so i suppose that's the one

now on a large bowl (like real big, if you're doubting get the biggest onw you got) sift it the flour (i never sift it but it sounds professional, so you do you), add in the baking soda, the salt mix it all

once your butter has cooled down pour it in the flour mix, pour the milk, the eggs (whisked??) and the vanilla and mix it a first time but not with everything properly incorporated, you still want it undermixed so we can add the chocolate

mix in the chocolate until everything is nice and homogeneous (björk reference) and that's it, we got our raw cookie dough. clearly not edible because it has raw flour and eggs

scoop your cookies, with a spoon, ice cream scooper, hands, mouth (dont ingest it though) into a sheet pan lined ith parchement paper and shove 'em into the oven for like idk. like i relly dont, i dont remeber. that' bad.
